Stepka Volkov is publisher, editor-in-chief and cofounder of Dezinformatsiya He is a former intelligence officer who specialized in information operations, strategic narrative development, and psychological influence analysis. Trained to understand how stories are shaped, amplified, suppressed, and weaponized, he spent his early career studying the mechanics of perception management across state and media systems.

After leaving government service, Volkov shifted his focus from constructing narratives to dissecting them.

He now serves as editor of Dezinformatsiya, a publication dedicated to examining the architecture of modern information ecosystems.
